What is it? An informal, mixed group who all enjoy recreational bicycling – whenever possible away from the traffic and the town. The rides are not ‘guided tours’ but we do try to find points of interest along the way. And we never get lost! What do we do? We meet most Friday mornings and cycle as a group in many different areas of Kuwait. Rides are approximately 25 kms long and they often include off-road stretches. The group is very diverse but we proceed at the pace of the slowest rider.
In the main season, we like to use desert tracks. The Muttlah Ridge and the surroundings of Ahmadi are two of our favourite areas. We also ride on Failaka Island, in the Zour & Kiran areas, Jahra Bird Sanctuary and the ruined Earth Satellite Station. In Ramadan, we enjoy evening Iftar rides in Kuwait City. Some parts of the suburbs are surprisingly pleasant. (Scroll down to look at photos of some of these locations).We have occasional social functions, such as BBQs, theatre visits, music concerts, etc.
